One of a continuing series of hands-on member workshops sponsored by the Youth Training Committee that are held before the general meeting.

We will all turn a "Magic Wand" using the Youth Turning project procedure. The procedure for the magic wand is on the NorCal web site: Members Area, Youth Turning Notes.  You might also check out the "Intro to Woodturning and Beads and Coves" and do a little practice.  We will likely do a beads and coves stick as a warmup in the workshop.  Don't worry, your beads don't have to be perfect!"

We will order pizza to enjoy during a show and tell on our projects. (Your donation will defray the cost of the Pizza)

This is a fine opportunity for members who are relatively new to turning to build some solid skills and complete a fun project. Also for coaches to get familiar with the new tool box setup and build skills in coaching this project.  Coaches are encouraged to participate and help the new turners.

The workshop will be held in the Palmiter School Woodturning Classroom - Building G - first building on the right when you enter the parking lot. A coach and a turner will pair up at a lathe.  Tools and project materials will be supplied.
