Our demo for February 23rd is Cheryl Lewis, the new president of Gold Country Woodturners in Nevada City. Cheryl began her woodturning journey as a member of our club and helped our team teach students in Sacramento. She is an alumna of David Ellsworth’s master class at Anderson Ranch in Colorado and has been published in the AAW’s Woodturner magazine. Cheryl will be joining us via Zoom from her farm in Auburn to show us how to apply to woodturnings the ancient technique of fused-wax (encaustic) painting.
As part of our meeting we will have a "Member's Gallery" where you can show off some of your work. At the appropriate time in the meeting you can hold your piece up to your video camera. This often doesn't show your work off very well, so another option is for you to email a photo of your turning to Ted Young at tedyoung61@yahoo.com. He will share the photos with the group.
To make things easier, ALL of our members will be emailed the Zoom login details. Members do NOT need to register for free events anymore, just make sure your email address is correct in your member profile.
Our meetings are open to the public. If you are not a Nor-Cal Member please register here and we will send you a link. Member's can also register if they are having trouble getting our bulk emails that may be blocked by your spam controls.
